Benefits of Jiu Jitsu

Jiu Jitsu has so many benefits, both physical and mental. The physical benefits include getting extremely fit (whilst having a heap of fun), improved flexibility, mobility and body awareness, improved strength (it is truly functional fitness as it teaches your body to move as one unit), ability to defend yourself and of course, stress relief. Other benefits include problem solving, learning to overcome adversity, using temporary failure as a catapult for greater strategic success, accomplishing goals, and improved confidence. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the sport equivalent of chess, where you can really develop your own style. It is meditative as it allows you to get out of your head; you can't focus on the problems of your day when you are sparring and trying to stop yourself from being submitted.

Fundamentals Program

In the Adults Fundamentals Program, students will be introduced to the core concepts and principles of Jiu Jitsu. Class sizes are typically small, allowing the students to get more individualised attention and learn in a welcoming, supportive environment. This regular activity and study will give you a place you can escape to and engage in positive self focus to become a more powerful and improved version of yourself.

Advanced Program

Students who have passed through the Fundamentals program can immerse themselves in the complex web of techniques and methods that will lead them to mastery and truly make them formidable humans. The Advanced Program builds upon the Fundamentals Program, offering a deep-dive into intricate Jiu Jitsu techniques. You will learn advanced techniques and principles of Jiu Jitsu and how to weaponise strategy, tactics and psychology. Through focussed drilling and refinement, you’ll not only learn these techniques but also develop the problem solving skills and strategic thinking to seamlessly integrate them into your own Jiu Jistu game.

No Gi

No Gi is without the traditional Jiu Jitsu kimono (Gi) where the uniform consists of shorts and a rash guard. Our No Gi Jiu Jitsu program focuses on the core principles of grappling - speed, balance, timing and control - in a Gi-less environment. In No Gi Jiu Jitsu there are many unique attack options available and concurrently students will learn to apply advanced concepts of defence and control to mitigate these attacks. Through live rolling sessions, you’ll refine your skills and develop a well-rounded understanding of Jiu Jitsu applicable to both Gi and No Gi styles
